What a great shot. I am wondering if little creatures like Hermit Crabs live under the rock and move the rock very slowly.

Hi Nettie. Thanks for the compliment. Scientists have studied this phenomena and have come up with a couple ideas involving possible magnitism or wind (other ideas as well). However nothing has yet been proven. Personally, I like having a few mysteries in this world of ours.
